Weekend Visitor
I was so glad SLC didn't offer the Medical licensing clinical exam....because we got a visitor for the weekend... my sister.....soon to be Sis MD.
We had a shrine of 6 pineapples for her when she arrived. (If you know anything about KT, that is like 6 dozen roses...good thing they were 99cents).
Although, she was studying a ton...we had a lot of fun...
Including one of these....

And making this....

KT hates cheesy pictures...but oh well.

Tea Party
Haven't had a real one since Miss L's birthday. But I was inspired with this recipe (since Miss L has a tiny little bundt pan), which Erika made me for Christmas.
Miss L loves when the cake is her size....it's good for me. Talk about portion control. Who cares if you eat the whole cake.
We made one for Gary too, cuz he is a chocoholic. I have the coolest bundt pan (pictured in back) It is made out of silicone, or something and bends. It is fun to have an excuse to use it.
So Little G wanted to join the tea party, so we made him the official puppy. (Note: his shirt says I love puppies quite on accident). We gave him a bowl of cheerios and he ate under the table, what a cutie.

Miss L's new room
Miss L got a new room this week. This is a big step for me. Her baby's room was unisex, because I knew that I couldn't afford both. But I have forever regretted that, because what if this is my only girl? And I didn't get to spoil her in a room of pink....
I have been wanting to get a rug for her room since we got new carpet this summer, but I wanted something that looked like this...please note price. Her bedspreads were just extras when we got the bunk beds, but not really "little girl" material.
So when I saw someone in our neighborhood was selling IT (this exact rug I wanted) I acted, BUT it wasn't unreasonable.

But her room is beautiful, and in addition to the rug, I got these cool storage units, beautiful quilt bedspread, and a purple lamp base along with the rug. It was a steal of a deal...her room is beautiful.
I'll think I'll do a painting of butterflies for the free wall or get a purple frames or something. I have a purple lamp base to work with too. I just need to figure out what I want the lamp shade to look like. ANy seriously girly ideas would be appreciated.

1) Get Miss L to Eat Vegetables
So, one of my New Year's resolutions is to get Miss L to eat healthier. We actually eat pretty healthy. We eat meat sparingly, eat a lot of beans, and I only buy whole wheat bread. Probably could cut back in the amount of sweets I bake, but.... that's not the goal yet. I probably should just limit the intake more.
But it seems like Miss L only picks at the healthy stuff, aside from cheese, yogurt, beans, and applesauce (which some of that isn't all that healthy when eaten in large quantities). She loves broccoli, peas, tomatoes, and corn, but that is it.
So she had veggies and dip for lunch, and I had a salad. I have recently rediscovered ranch dressing. I don't like mayonnaise in large quantities, but if I mix buttermilk with ranch dressing mix, it tastes wonderful...who knew. Well apparently everyone that posted it on the internet, but besides them.
I have a friend whose 4-year-old loves salads. How do you do it ? We're working on it here.

Photos at the Park
What a beautiful day it was. I took about 150 photos. Here are the highlights. They look even better in black and white.
