Peanut Butter Heaven

I'd normally post these on my other blog, but there is nothing really fancy about making peanut butter cookies... my secret twist...freshly ground whole wheat. I am trying more and more to put in whole wheat into my cooking, it is so much better for you, and Type II diabetes runs in my family. Pretty soon I'll be growing all my own produce and eating strictly organic (which in all seriousness, I have thought about) but my budget cannot afford it and I'd need a bigger plot of ground...aka backyard. You can't tell, since peanut butter cookies are kinda grainy anyway, and it does make them a bit more crumbly, but still delish.

Today for the first time I added kisses. I have never made them like this, but I have received a few like this in my day, and I think they taste wonderful. Plus, Valentine's Hershey kisses were 80% off at my HEB. And I was babysitting, so the kiddos unwrapped them all for me. Gotta love that. Made for a great tea party.

Gorgeous Weather

We are having gorgeous weather once again (although it frosted this morning, and I am afraid my tomato plants are in peril). We spent the afternoon outside lounging, looking at the garden, and eating grill cheese and Japanese treats. (Yes, your box came Shelley, and my Obi came and I am so excited. Now I need to figure out how to hang it).

My bedroom is going Japanese....

Today was gorgeous....

Today was gorgeous.... I was thinking about biking to the river again today, but my kids were asleep in the car, so instead I sat by them in the garage and finished this little baby.

A couple weeks ago Gary started throwing pots again, and I started this project for my living room. I am little rusty (like I haven't really done much since pre-children), but it was fun.

Little Helper for Valentine's day

Miss L was my little helper today. She helped me makes tamales. Pork picnic was 69 cents/pound at the Mexican grocery store. So...I spent lil' G's naptime with Miss L making tamales.

She loved it. She kept saying as she filled corn husks with masa..." burgers with Barney smile". If you know the quote you must love Disney's Camp Rock as much as Miss L and I do.

We also made chocolate covered strawberries. Since Valentine's day is tomorrow, and strawberries are on sale, and I picked up some after Christmas chocolate and vanilla bark on clearance... A very kid friendly activity, and she loved drying the strawberries and dipping them, not to mention licking her fingers, the spoon, and bowl after we had put them in the fridge.

Don't you love the little tuxedos.

Sleeping Babies

This picture the other day, reminded me of this picture about 3 years ago. I love cuddly babies. I think lil' G is starting to look more and more like Miss L.

Beautiful Day

I started biking at the gym in the mornings again this week, so instead of going this morning I decided to bike to the park by the soccer fields, it is furthest I have biked thus far and my legs feel it.

It was unusually gorgeous weather, breezy, sunny, and billowing clouds. We brought a picnic lunch and played on the swings.

I CAN...

I can decorate heart shaped carrot cake cupcakes all by myself.

I can tattoo myself with Cinderella.
I can hold 2/3 my body weight.

What can you do?

Fun with cupcakes

My mom got me this book at thanksgiving. So Yesterday I had occasion to use it as I hosted a baby shower for a friend in my neighborhood.

I was planning on going solely with the white cookies, but I actually think the black cookies look better.
