Merry Christmas Miss L, wanted it to be a surprise, but I had to size her head. Was impatient to learn to crochet, because I was looking for something other than playing solitaire on my iphone when I watch the news at night...enter youtube.com, mission accomplished

All things butterfly....

I knew if I didn't get this post out today, it wouldn't be out for months. Miss L's birthday party was today. We had so much fun with the butterfly theme, and trying to making it economical (like making our own pinata).

I love planning for these with her and enlisting my kids help. It was nice this morning to have Gary take the boys so Miss L and I could finish decorating the cupcakes and hanging streamers.

7 little girls had a blast decorating butterfly posters, butterfly cookies, eating pizza and butterfly cupcakes, and killing a poor homemade butterfly pinata. They were so quiet and shy at the beginning of the party and absolutely strung out on sugar and new friendships by the end. Happy Birthday Miss L.

Miss L is 6

Six seems so old to me, I can't believe she is so big. I have decided 6 is the perfect age. Over all the sleepless night, potty training, and just starting to discover the world, but still needs me. I love that she loves to read, and learn about the planets, and finish craft projects, and still has the imagination she can do anything with. She is still a spitfire, Glad she is mine.

How to make a pinata

1) Enlist help of any 3 year-old- boy.

2) Create wet mummy balloons

3) Wait days for it to dry.
4) Buy lots of crepe paper
5) Add wings and candy, and have daughter design face
6) Smash to pieces

Thanksgiving weekend

Gary was on call, so we had a nice relaxing weekend at home. It was pretty cold, we had a morning in the woods, and dinner with good friends. It was just relaxing. We did have one cornstarch incident with the food preparation, but nothing too major.
