When texas calls a snow day

To be fair there was ice on my roses and on Gary's car, but in Texas that is enough to cancel school. We had a great free day. We made whole wheat bread, with every child making a different flavor. Lily's orange zest whole wheat was to die for.

Then we had an elaborate tea party with "pigs in a blanket" and pomegranate soda, and peppermint tea if course.

Lily and I had a girls afternoon watching Barbie movies and painting our nails.

Then I ran my long run for the week while Gary made a fire for the boys and Gary and I ended the day with a date to a local frozen yogurt dive. Eventful day.

Ps . I love this boy

Lily's baptism

My oldest is 8, and is our church that means baptism.

We sent this out to neighbors and friends and coworkers.

I was so excited for her.  It was a really special day full of family and friends. Aunt Rachel did her hair. My parents, Gary's parents, my sister Rachel, and my cousin Matt and his family all came down for Miss Lily.  Aunt Rachel, my dad, and Gary's dad all spoke.  Gary was one proud papa.  It ended with lots of food and playtime with cousins.

This dress I wore when I was eight.
