Happy thanksgiving

This year I am most grateful for my family. Specifically, the 4 that call me mom and the husband that allows me to stay home and raise them. I know being a stay at home mom is a real privilege. I have really enjoyed this holiday week with them. Slow relaxed, and lots of big breakfasts (FYI- during the school week we only eat oatmeal/cold cereal because that is the only way scriptures get read).

Today was great too. I prepped most of the food yesterday, so today was the turkey trot with Lily, and helping kiddos decorate candy turkeys. lily made the cranberry sauce my herself this year. 

I even got in a nap. Dinner was easy to clean up because I prepped yesterday and friends are coming for dessert later, so I actually didn't overstuff myself this year. 

I may have not got my hair done until 5pm, but it was a great day.

She's found a niche.

Fall Soccer

Loving soccer, Both kiddos are really good. Lily is a crazy aggressive goalie and can run the field field the entire game. Takes me back to my left midfield days....tear,tear. Gary jr. Is apparently a defender, this is his 1st season.

I am assistant coach of Lily's team and team mom on Gary jr. I love it.

Because it needs to be said....

This week a cousin of mine past away.  Lora Warnock...

Lora was a very wonderful person, but I wanted my family to know how wonderful she was to me.

Matt and Lora were my only family in Houston for a long time.

When we first moved to Houston, we had no family, and Matt and Lora immediately took us under their wing.  They had a large home, and we stayed with them when we were looking for a house, when we were waiting to close on our house, when Hurricane Ike came and hit our house.....they were always more than willing to host us at a moments notice, which happened a few times for us.

When Gary was in medical school, and we couldn't afford a babysitter Matt and Lora would watch Lily so we could go to the temple which is close to their house.  They always got large take out (usually fajitas) at these visits and made us take it home.  They knew our budget was tight. They spoiled us in a way we could not spoil ourselves.

When Ben was born, I got a card in the mail.  The address was in a woman's writing, with a postmark from North Houston. It had a $100, with no note. It was anonymous. But Lora is the only woman I know in North Houston....Lora was that kind of person. I hope to be that kind of person too.

Moving to Houston for Med School was hard for me....Matt and Lora made it so much easier.

I know families are eternal.  And there is a loving Savior who died for us so we can be with those we love again.  I am still sad, but it does give me hope.  Lora was very loved, and by me very admired.

Florida Part #2

 

 

 

My Parents and All the Grandkids 

 

 

I love the clouds in this picture.  The storm was rolling in right as we were taking pictures.  Here is my family at present.  It seems we never have pictures that capture the moment we are in....my last update of my sidebar displayed 3 littles....and now there are 4.

Florida Part #1

We spent a magnificent week in Florida for my family's reunion.  All of my siblings were there and it was incredible week of beach, pool, boat, and more beach.  My kids were in heaven everyday, Baby did great....thank goodness he loved the sand.  All he wanted to do was rub his hands in it and he was a happy camper.  Gary joined us on the last two days which made my load easier too.  We all got a little burned, but it was worth the week.

End of Drama Camp performance, So nice to have a grandma with so much talent.... And this ability to corral 30 youngsters and teach them choreography.

1st grade graduation and field day
