Easter with Cousins

We had so much fun with our cousin from Connecticut who came for their spring break. We went to an indoor playground, visited Nasa, Kemah boardwalk, went to 3 easter eggs hunts, made bunny cake, decorated easter eggs, went to the Alligator Park, and watched Star Wars. A very eventful and fun weekend. We were sad to say goodbye this morning. Lil'G loved finding lizards with his cousin Sammy and liked to follow his Uncle Jon around. Miss L loved matching her cousin Leia and doing girly things. Thanks for coming!!!

Cousins

We had a great time with our Indiana cousin this week. We had grandma, Aunt Diana, Madeline (7 weeks), and Joojie who loved being a big kid. We went to school park, Alligator park, Ikea, Macy's, Sams, launched water rockets, went to the riverwalk, picked blackberries, and biked around the cul-de-sac numerous times.

Come back SOON!!!!

Our new pet,,,Sonja

This little tree frog jumped on my windshield on the way home from our church party last night. I didn't know Texas had tree frogs, but they do, and I thought tree frogs were poisonous, but they aren't. Good things we had this giant red vines licorice container, which made a perfect habitat. Miss L named it Sonja....

Short-lived pets

Oh, to be 3..... Living in the south brings a culture of its own....crawdads boils are part of that. Crawdads are on sale at HEB the next few weeks. And since we have been contemplating getting lobsters for the kids to play with, well, 60 cents later we were the proud owner of 3 crawdads. They went swimming in the tub for a while, Miss L named them. Over the last 36 hours, Lil'G transferred them from tub, to a bag, to the tub, to the kitchen sink, to the bag (which by then broke), to a bowl. He loved picking them up. We had some interesting times with our church missionaries (who were over tonight for dinner) as the bowl tipped over on the counter and flailing crawdads were sent flying terrified across the kitchen. Then I feeling kinda bad for my attached children and crawdads suggested we throw them in the bayou instead of cooking them. They had undergone enough torture. Lil'G was very upset insisted we "throw them in hot bubbly water" . Which he then did by himself.

Mostly mom ate them, dad and Lil'G both had bites though. They were pretty good since I seasoned the water with cajun spices and chicken bouillon. The kids thought they would still get pinched by the lifeless things.
