My 3-year-old
Today my boy turned 3!!!. We love him so much, he is the happiest kid, and always up for an adventure with his sister. He is so sweet, he is my best child at sharing, and loves hugs. His favorite book is Happiest Mommy Ever, because he believes he is the reason I am so happy.
I love you Lil' G.

Ballerina Birthday
Miss L had a blast at the party on Saturday. I think her favorite party was wearing a tutu and twirling in front of the mirror.
Miss L and I have been looking forward to this for weeks. We had so much fun prepping for this party. We made candy lollipops of ballerina slippers on Tuesday and then cut out ballerinas for our decorations.

The past few weeks
The past few weeks have been really hard. Thank you friends for really helping me out. You know who you are. I really couldn've managed without you.
So a few events occurred ....
This little man turned 2!!!! His cake was so cute, compliments of Hello Cupcake. It had chocolate spiders, centipedes, and ants on top. This doesn't give you the best view, and of course I failed to take pictures of it before it was devoured. He thought it was great though.

This guy went to Cancun... I was so jealous. On my anniversary too. But he earned it. He celebrated without me, and presented his paper at a conference.
He brought me back this, and I knew I was loved and missed.
Other than that normal chaos as usual.

Happy Birthday Miss L!!!
Happy Birthday Miss L!
We had such a fun birthday week. Wednesday: Miss L got to tour Houston Port Authority with her family (Lil' G loved the tugboats), have birthday breakfast, Thursday: cupcakes to preschool, and Saturday: lunch/ decorating cupcake party with her friends today. ( Note the aprons that Corinne made with little cupcakes on them. They are darling!!!!)
Wednesday Miss L turned four. I can't believe how much my life has changed in four years. My family and specifically my children are my life. I guess that is how being a stay at home mom is. Miss L is the perfect trendsetter. She doesn't get pushed around and I love that about her. She knows what she wants. She is natural performer. She loves to read. She is sensitive. She loves her friends. She is independent. She is so wonderful!!!!!
Glad she is my girl.

Weekend Recap
What a weekend. I had 2 big events and 1 little one.
1) I have been married for 6 years. Did we ever have a hot date. I went to Swarma-king, which was a dive, and delicious, and my sister Katie and my Dad would've loved it. Actually my whole family would've loved it. Then we saw State of Play at the theater which was good, and made out in the theater during all the previews like I wasn't the mother of 2 until our Relief Society president came and sat in front of us. I had 5 glorious hours with just my husband.

2) Lil' G turned 1, and Miss L and I made a lion cake. We ate it for breakfast.

My frosting covered boy.

3) I had my spring piano recital. The kids really did well. They all sounded very good. It is fun to hear them improve every recital. No cookies this time. With all the events of the weekend, store bought had to do. I actually was a little paranoid about swine flu and homemade germs, I know silly, but it ended up saving me a lot of work and probably let me enjoy my other events that much more.

A whole year....
Last May 1st, I walked into the hospital and got a beautiful baby boy. That night I just stared at him for hours and he at me without making a sound. And this May 1st I have a big dream baby. The best way to describe lil' G is meek and mild. When it is time for bed, he just looks up at me with his big eyes lets me tuck him in under his chin and waits for a kiss. No cries. He loves anything miss 'L is doing. He is an angel during my piano lessons. He only cries when there is a reason. Going from 1 to 2 was so much easier because of his disposition. I call him my bright spot. He loves to climb, took his first step two days ago, and whenever we open the back door, he makes a beeline for the garden to try to grab and eat a white strawberry or two before I catch up with him.
Happy Birthday lil' G.

Neighborhood Playgroup
I hosted the neighborhood playgroup today, it's been definately pre lil' G since I have hosted. I have been kinda occupied and without energy, what can I say.
It was a very nice day, so the kids could play outside and the moms could talk. The meal was simple and yummy, and now I don't have to cook dinner. I made "ice cream cupcakes" for Miss L's birthday. I think her B-day is officially over now...on to Christmas.
Here was the menu:
Asian Chicken and Craisin Salad-I had this at my baby shower for Miss L
Blackberry jalapeno jelly over cream cheese on crackers
Mac and Cheese
PB&J
Apple Juice
I was MOST proud of the Jalapeno Jelly. Anything in my garden I feel like is a blessing and therefore I should EAT IT, so that is why I made blackberry jalapeno jelly, besides HEB always has of rasberry jalapeno jelly over cream cheese on crackers in their gourmet cooking samples section, which is to die for...I think it tastes exactly the same. Gary would disagree, but I got several compliments. ... Although next time I will add more jalapenos.
