Easter
She has pigtails in, but in both pictures it only looks like there is one.
This is the first year we haven't been with any family, and after an extremely rough time at church with Miss L(at one point I was in tears), I felt it keenly. Especially my family having a great time skiing in Utah...
Not to dwell on the negative, Miss L had a lot of fun finding easter eggs in backyard, and I had my favorite dinner ever...Chicken Cordon Bleu, a wonderful salad, and rolls.
We also went to a baptism that was really quite a fine touch to the day.
A fun weekend in Hill Country
This weekend was really fun. To recap, Gary finished Internal Medicine Shelf on Thursday, I taught piano lessons and had a choir practice.
Friday morning we left for San Antonio, where we spent the afternoon at the Riverwalk. Miss L was pretty excited, ran for about a mile of it, when we implemented a rule that she could walk or ride in the stroller. She had only one breakdown, but it was due to the fact she was hungry, which was momma's fault.
The landscaping around the Riverwalk was gorgeous, especially this little stairway.
We stayed the night in KOA in Kerrville, in a tiny cabin. We probably would've camped, but after this experience, I wasn't going to risk it. It was perfect other than the fact that the bathrooms were down the way, and of course I am pregnant and have to get up in the middle of the night. Miss L loved her bunk beds and kept sweeping our little cabin. We had a relaxing evening watch shows, takings showers, playing at the park, and watching Miss L eat a DQ dipped cone for the first time.
Kerrville was beautiful, with vacations home pushed up against the river. Very secluded and relaxing. We went here too. It is a replica of Stonehenge and Easter Island, We played a lot of hide and seek.
Nighttime was a little cold for Miss L and Gary, until we turned the heater on, which I would've but of course I was sleeping quite comfortably in my pregnant state with no blankets, so I did not recognize the need.
We finished our trip by hiking Enchanted Rock, which I thought would be no problem since it was only .6 miles to the top. But Gary had to carry everything including Miss L, so it was about all we could handle. I also I don't really have the maternity clothes to be and avid hiker, and I had to keep my heart rate down, which after my little scare a couple months ago, I am keenly aware of how I am doing. Unfortunately, I over estimated our food and water intake, so Gary had an extra load as well. We took it really slow to the top, and Gary hiked the cave at the top, and Miss L and I enjoyed the view.
We finished our little trip with a little walk down main street in Fredricksburg. It is a beautiful little German town with shops, German Bakeries, and Bed and Breakfasts lining the street. We had some Apfel Strudel, and headed for home.

Miss L's first major trauma
So today was Miss L's first major trauma. Hopefully there will be no emotional scars.
In her words:
"Mommy locked the car."
"It was scary"
"Daddy saved us"
As I was pulling Miss L out of the car for piano lessons, my student's dad came out to say they didn't realize we had piano lessons during spring break. So amid buckling Miss L back in the car and finishing the conversation with the dad, I locked my keys in the car.
Fortunately daddy was home with the keys about a mile away, and it wasn't summertime heat ...she could have died.
Unfortunately, it was pouring rain, and the power was out at our house, which means the phone was out as well, and I don't know Gary's new cell phone number by heart. Luckily, I do know my in-laws number by heart (thanks to getting lost one day running in Oregon...a story for another time). Unfortunately, the 5 minutes Miss L spent in the car screaming while Mommy was looking at her from outside the car were very traumatizing.
So now Miss L is sitting on my lap, we just finished looking at pictures of her...which she loves, and eating jelly beans and milk, and letting her ride her pink bike inside (buy only on the tile).
Lots of pampering for this girl today. Poor Miss L!

10 thoughts....
1) I love my little family.
2) Playgroups that are too big make me grumpy and Miss L extra grumpy. I think we are going to be home bodies the next bit.
3) Spaghettios smell like vomit (at least when I am pregnant) and they are Miss L's favorite food.
4) You know you are "very pregnant looking" when the lady who came to enrichment to escape her four children offers to play with your daughter.... last time this happened I was working and the security guard got permission for me to have the handicap spot (which I gratefully accepted)
5) This has been a really hard week. A few home stress, quite a few Miss L stresses, and trying not to put any stress on G who has his national shelf for Internal Medicine next week.
6) I really like sorbet... didn't realize it until today...half the container is gone
7) My brain is turning to mush.
8) My favorite show is American Idol... of course, I can't sit through the commercials, only really care what the judges say (if they agree with my opinion) and it makes a good sewing show at 1 in the afternoon while I have a few free moments with Miss L asleep... thank goodness for TIVO, or some imitation TIVO that Gary installed on our computer and we don't have to pay monthly for. I love my technogeek.
9) I really need to go shopping, but I don't have the energy to. Gary really needs his dental floss.

Pillowcase dress
My pillowtop dress is finally done. I started this at Leslie's, but the measurements weren't quite right for Miss L. It was going to be a shirt, but it was too big and wide. I cut about 2 inches off each side and added the fabric at the bottom and for the biased tape. It looks a lot better now.
Any one out there know anything about hand quilting?....I am attempting my next sewing project... and I need help.

New Clothes, Potty Training, etc.
I am tired today. I hosted a playgroup again today, and Miss L had 4 accidents. I am done with potty training. Not really, but today has been really, really bad in that respect. I have to do laundry just from today alone. BLAH!!!! 
This was definitely inherited from her father, who I told that if he gave me the crossed eyed look at any time during our engagement, the wedding was off. I could not ever think of someone romantically with that contorted face.
Here is the skirt Aunt Linda gave her. One of my favorites, and now finally fits her.
And here is the whole outfit together. She is ready for the RODEO!!!! ( Which we are definately going to this year mostly so she CAN wear this.

Saturday Work Day
Saturdays are work days for me, so much so that I usually don't have time to blog, but with Gary gone today at the hospital:<, I thought I update a little on our Saturday projects. Plus I finally got new batteries for my camera. I am thinking of switching to rechargeable, because it eats through them about every week. This went in about 3 Saturdays ago. The pole things are peas, the bush is cilantro from 1.5 years ago, and the little plants are tomatoes, peppers, and strawberries. Under the soil are my beans, cucumbers, and cantaloupe. We will see what grows. 
Here are the tiny (albeit still green strawberries)
This went in last Saturday. I had to wait until Gary could haul the mulch. Although there was a man at Walmart who loaded it for him, so I could have done it myself. Two flower beds in the back corners. I needed somewhere to put my day lilies I inherited from last year, and the blasted gardenia that was taking over my front bed. I don't quite have a green thumb but I do enjoy it, especially when everything blooms. Remember my front bed last year.
This was today's project. We are slowly but surely moving the office out of the office, and Miss L into the office and cleaning out her closet and the baby into the baby's room. Here is the progress report:
1)Gary finally bought that new computer, because he didn't want to move the old computer into our bedroom that he was just going to disassemble and sell. (He is selling the old one for the same price as the new one, don't know how that works considering the old one is OLD, but I am glad he a techie, because I am not.)
2) Miss L has voluntarily decided she wants to sleep in the big girl bed "aka bunk beds" so that has been nice, and we only had one accident today.
3) Today all the boy clothes got hung up. Thanks mom and Leslie. The whole bottom half is now dedicated to Lil' G. Granted I still have the top half to clean out, and the office closet, but it is progress, and I don't want to do it all until the computer is officially in our bedroom.
So that is my Saturday. I still have to clean the bathrooms, but who wants to see pictures of that.
