Fun with Fondant

We have been a little in need of getting out, but a little too sick to get out the beginning of the week, and a little too hot out yesterday and today... so Miss L decided to hold a wedding. For herself. Specifically, the part she was concerned about was the 3 tiered cake and the dress. And it needed to be pink and have stars.

So we had a little fun with fondant. Everyone turned pink, because everyone had to lick a beater.

Miss L calls is bread frosting because she has seen me knead bread too many times.

I got the recipe here, which was really easy, and I already had marshmallows and powder sugar, so I didn't need glycerin or whatever real fondant calls for.

I think we will save it to eat when daddy comes homes tomorrow!!!!!!!!! A month is way too long to go with your husband!

Gonna Wash That Man...

Tribute to both grandmas, Grandma C gives her voice lessons whenever we go to visit, and Grandma S took her to see South Pacific last month

Beer Chicken

Gary's made a pottery piece for Beer Chicken, You fill the center with Beer and then Roast the Chicken, and it absorbs all the steamy flavor as it roasts. Since I don't frequently purchase Beer (or ever), we put in apple juice, and it was delicious. It will be fun to try different concoctions.

My parents backyard

My parents have the most beautifully landscaped backyard and patio. The word for it is serenity. The lay on the hammock in the cool of the day is just a little bit of heaven. They are also babysitting my sister's dog, who Lil' G loved "throwing" the ball too. That dog never tires.

Here are a few picts. of cousins among the zenias.

Fun with Cousins- Midwest

We sent Gary off to Portland for the month and went to go visit my parents, and my little brother who got off his mission in Spain for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We got to enjoy cousins, getting spoiled by grandparents, mini-putt, and a little boating.

Fun with Cousin- East Coast

We had so much fun with our cousins in Boston. We got to suprise Grandma and Grandpa, for a very fun, energetic visit. Here is Miss L with the only other girl cousin. They were like two peas in a pod. We had fun touring Boston, celebrating 4th of July, seeing my sister, and not so much fun getting the flu.

Beach

Pre-Vacation, we found the most fun beach which only happens to be 45 minutes from us....who knew.

You can drive onto it, so Lil'G took his nap in the car while we played in the waves.
