My daughter is addicted to Mulan... Thanks Uncle Berkley. She gets to watch a movie while I teach lessons and always picks Mulan.
She loves to quote it... her favorite lines are "they popped out of the snow like daisies," and "let's go kick some hunnybuns."
She also sings the theme song around the house incessantly.
But today was the clencher. She was taking her knifes out of her play kitchen and pretending to cut my stomach. Then asking for a bandaid to mend it. Because of course Mulan gets wounded by Shan-Yu's sword.
All in all Mulan teaches VIOLENCE.
And yet we continue to watch it nearly every day...

Ahhh, the Mulan phase...I remember it well. Just be glad she hasn't chopped off her hair yet, and don't think that children's safety scissors won't cut hair...they will. B's friend cut B's hair off with safety scissors soon after they finished watching that movie when they were about L's age.
