Bluebonnets

Wednesday was a crazy day.

I was really feeling the desire to go to the temple this week. Wednesday was our ward's fill the temple day so Tuesday night I prayed hard that Baby B would sleep well that night, and the kids and I got up early and met Gary at seminary (he is currently the seminary teacher). Then we headed up, with some still in pj's and the house not nearly as neat as it should've been and headed to the temple. It was wonderful.

On the way home we decided to head up 290 for a quick photo among the bluebonnets. Of course we got a call to show our house on the way... did I mention we were listing our house? Anyway, you have 3 hours from the time they call to have your house picked up and knowing the state of the house that morning (not dirty, just not picked up or vacuumed, we needed at least 1 hour). So the stress began to find bluebonnets (there were NONE). I was giving it 5 minutes and then we had to turn the car toward home.

Miss L quickly said a prayer that we would find bluebonnets, and with the faith of a child, we topped the next hill and there they were. I can't say I was instantly calm, probably from the pictures you can tell that Baby B and Lil' G had to be woken up, but we did get some and it will be a fun memory for the future.

We did make it home with 45 minutes to spare and a did get our house clean...

Sunhats

We went to the Riverwalk this afternoon to give dad a break. The kids all wore their new sunhats. We checked for blackberries, we found about a dozen, but they'll be more ripe next week. We picked flowers. We found big sticks. We swang on the swings and stepped on fire ant piles. I love spring in texas.

Adjusting to 3

3 Baby Burritos

Yeah mom, my brother's baby blessing outfit clearly doesn't fit me, which means it is not gonna fit me next month. Remember I was 9 lbs, not 6.... I couldn't even get the back buttoned.
It amazes me that despite all the chaos in our family, exhibited tonight by children running around the kitchen for 1/2 hour playing chase, this little one remains suprisingly calm, in fact he didn't cry make a peep (and he may have been mauled by siblings 2-3 times during the process) until I put him in his bed by himself. I think he likes the chaos.

Rough Night

We had a rough night last night. Every member of the family was up at least once between 2 and 4. (the picture is actually last week, it just resembles how we feel today)

I am going to take a nap right now...

Baby Ben

Happy Big Sister, especially because of the sibling cake the hospital offers.

Double Chin!!!

Some pictures from Wednesday morning. I woke up with contractions about 1:30 am, that were manageable, but noticeable, and finally decided to get to the hospital. I was dilated to an 8, got an epidural after consulting with Gary, which was a bit of a double edged sword. It slowed down everything and made me very anxious and jittery, but I was able to get a whole IV bag of Vancomycin at my doctor's insistence which took FOREVER (4 hours), I was grateful in the end for epidural when my almost 9 lb baby emerged. He was huge, full of hair, and had a double chin. Compared with Miss L and lil' G he was ginormous!

He is beautiful, happy, and loves to nurse.

I couldn't be happier. Just gotta get home from the hospital, I am a little stir crazy, but Baby Ben has a few more tests to run...and minor surgery (I feel sorry for all boys at this stage). I am thinking tomorrow morning we can come home, we'll see.
